Day 1: Nairobi City

On arrival in Nairobi, transfer to the Nairobi Serena Hotel for one night in a Standard Room.

Day 2: Nairobi City - Lake Elementaita

After breakfast, board your 4x4 safari vehicle and journey to Lake Elementaita Serena Camp in time for lunch.

The Lake Elementaita Serena Camp is a luxury camp that lies on the shores of the flamingo and pelican fringed Lake Elementaita within the Soysambu Conservancy – a truly beautiful location. The conservancy is a sanctuary home to rare wildlife including abundant bird species and is East Africa’s only breeding ground for the Great White Pelican. Enjoy time at leisure before dinner. Spend two nights at Lake Elementaita Serena Camp.

Day 3: Lake Elementaita – Lake Nakuru

This morning, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park in the middle of the Great Rift Valley – a geological phenomenon visible from the moon.

The Lake Nakuru National Park was formed in 1968 to protect the lesser flamingo that breed and nest at the edge of the soda lake (seasonal, dependent on water level). The Lake Nakuru National Park is home to over 400 species of birds and is also one of the few remaining places to see the endangered white rhino.

Embark on a morning game drive in the park, and then enjoy lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge. A second game drive in the park follows this afternoon, perhaps seeking out the other wildlife that reside here, including lion, leopard, gazelle and eland. In the evening, return to the Lake Elementaita Serena Camp on the shores of Lake Elementaita in time for dinner.

Day 4: Lake Elementaita - Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Enjoy breakfast and morning activities at the camp. After lunch, transfer to Loldia airstrip for an afternoon light aircraft flight to the Maasai Mara – one of the most exciting reserves in Africa with an exceptional population of big cats and plains game.

On arrival at Siana airstrip, embark on a spectacular afternoon shared game drive in the Mara for a chance to see the Big Five who reside here. Perhaps spot lions lazing in the shade, or see elephant and zebra roaming towards a waterhole. Arrive at the exquisite Mara Bushtops this evening for dinner and a two night stay. This luxury camp is exclusive and enjoys a wonderful location on the edge of the Mara in the Bushtops conservancy. B, L, D.

• When staying at Mara Bushtops make sure you take the opportunity of doing the full day game drive to the Mara river.
• Sitting in a comfy chair, glass of wine in hand with more of a banquet rather than picnic lunch lovingly prepared for you and watching the African bush unfold is absolutely magical.

Day 5: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

A full day of shared game viewing in the beautiful open savannahs of the Maasai Mara awaits you today, with a picnic lunch.
