Day 1: Dar Es Salaam City
On arrival at Dar Es Salaam Airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Serena Hotel where you will overnight on a bed and breakfast basis.
The Serena Hotel, Dar Es Salaam hotel is a ten minute drive from Dar Es Salaam International Airport and offers a king size bed or 2 single beds as well as a working desk and a sitting area. These rooms overlook the bustling city centre. The rooms feature; air-conditioning, a safe, writing desk, sitting area, hairdryer, cable television, coffee and tea making facilities and a mini-bar.
Overnight: Serena Hotel, Dar Es Salaam
Day 2: Dar Es Salaam City - Saandani National Park
This morning you will be transferred back to the airport for your light shared aircraft flight to Saadani Airstrip. The flight is approximately 20 minutes but could be longer due to multiple pick-ups and drop offs. Arrive at the airstrip where a Saadani River lodge representative will meet and transfer you to the lodge. The transfer is approximately 45 minutes.
The 17 stilted suites of Saadani River Lodge are the epitome of 'luxury, naturally', built for rest and relaxation on the southern shore of the Wami River close to the Saadani National Park.
The guest tree houses blend into the natural scenery on their stilts with traditional thatched roofs. In addition, for the ultimate secluded escape, River Lodge's Wami Suite is a private villa with its own infinity pool, two bedrooms and bathrooms, a living room and dining room.
The lodge offers guests a range of activities including game drives and river excursions. The in-house spa provides indulgent massages to enjoy between activities.

Day 3: Saandani National Park
The day is at leisure to enjoy the activities on offer. There is a huge amount of wildlife in and around the lodge.
Whether you journey in 4x4 vehicles, by boat or on foot, you'll be up close and personal with the wildlife. There is a good chance of spotting lions, leopards, buffalo, antelope, hyenas, giraffes, elephants and zebras. By the river it is likely that you will spot hippos and crocodiles while Colobus monkeys clamber through the trees on the river banks.
The lodge and the surrounding areas are blessed with an array of bird life, ranging from the commonly viewed to the exotic and rare: Fish eagle, Black kite, Cuckoo Hawk, Lanner falcon, Lesser kestrel, Purple heron, Brown-necked parrot, Ringed plover, Long-crested eagle, Greater flamingo to name a few.

Day 4: Saandani National Park
The day is at leisure to enjoy the activities on offer. Today you might want to explore the area from a game drive.
Saadani National Park is one of the last remaining protected coastal areas in Africa allowing native plants and abundant wildlife to flourish. Guests are likely to catch sight of; cats, antelopes, giraffes, elephants and buffalo. Lions and leopards enjoy relaxing in cooler spots waiting for the sun to set. A great place to encounter the local wildlife is from the Wami River. Bird watchers are in for a treat with the overwhelming abundance of birds in their natural habitat. Our river excursions start right from the lodge and journey down towards the mouth of the river encountering hippos and crocodiles whilst the monkeys and birds watch from the trees lining the water.
When the sun sets, it's a spectacular moment that is marked with cocktails and a tasty snack. Sundowners can take place in the middle of the river or the middle of the bush while you absorb your surroundings. We will also be delighted to arrange a magical dinner experience for you in the middle of the bush.

Day 5: Saandani National Park - Dar Es Salaam City
After breakfast a camp representative will transfer you to the airstrip for your flight back to Dar Es Salaam. The time of the transfer will be advised to you locally by the camp management.
Kindly note that all inter-camp flights are subject to multiple pick-ups and drop offs en route to your destination which could affect the flying time.
