Lake Eyasi is a large salt lake that lies in the Rift Valley, a system of rifts in the earth's crust, which runs from Syria to Mozambique. Along the rifts are large and very deep lakes, but also located here, is Africa's highest mountain Mt. Kilimanjaro. This area is traditionally inhabited by the Hadzabe, who still live a very traditional hunter and gatherer way of life.

In the language of the local Maasai tribe Serengeti means "where the country has no end." It is home to millions of wild animals, including the famous "Big Five": elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards and buffalo. Also found here is about 520 different bird species.

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha Town, Tanzania

Upon arrival you will be welcomed by our local representative and transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge. The Arusha Coffee Lodge is located in an operation coffee plantation. The authentic Arusha Coffee Lodge is the ideal choice if starting your trip in Arusha Tanzania.

Day 2 – 4: Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area

After an early breakfast you travel with a guide to Lake Manyara, where many flamingos and pelicans are found, but also hippos. After a picnic on the shores of the lake continue with your journey to Karatu which lies on the edge of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Spend two nights at the Plantation Lodge. Plantation Lodge is in the middle of a coffee plantation still in operation. The lodge is an excellent base to explore the area.

The next day get a chance to see the Ngorongoro Crater up close. The Ngorongoro Crater, 18 kilometers in diameter, it is home to many of East Africa’s wildlife; lions, elephants, hyenas, wildebeests and gazelles. You even have the chance to see the very rare black rhino. Bird lovers should pay attention especially to the many flamingos and other bird species that are plentiful here. You picnicking on edge of the waterfront where there are many hippos lazing about in the water.

At the Ngorongoro Crater you will definitely see the tribal Masai shepherds with their flocks. The Masai let their cattle since time in memorial to graze on the fertile grasslands of the crater during the day. At the end of the day you will return to the lodge for drinks, dinner and exciting stories by the campfire.

Day 4 – 6: Lake Eyasi

After breakfast you will accompanied by a guide to the luxury camp Kisima Ngeda , which is situated in the shadow of Doum palms and where you from your private veranda has a great view of the surroundings.

This small luxury camp Kisima Ngeda situated on the shore of Lake Eyasi, a large salt lake that lies in Rift Valley, also known as the Great Rift Valley. This impressive geological phenomenon consists of a 6,500 km long crack across Africa. Along this rift arose deep lakes and high mountains and volcanoes exist. The crack is in some places ten miles wide.

This is also the habitat of the Hadzabe, a people believed to have descended from the Bushmen and only a few hundred families’ exist. The Hadzabe live a life of hunting small and large game (buffalo) and gathering edible tuber crops. You will meet the Hadzabe a tribe who still live very traditional hunter and gatherer lifestyle.

Day 6 – 9: Serengeti Safari Camp

You travel to the Serengeti National Park, stopping en route at Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important paleo - anthropological sites in the world. In this valley are found vestiges of the oldest people in the world who have. Lived here for about 1.9 million years ago

You will spend the next few days in the Serengeti Safari Camp. The Serengeti Safari Camp is strategically moved seasonally. Because of this you will stay as close to the great migration of wildebeest. The Serengeti National Park area, covers more than 14,000 km2 and it’s where you will find much wildlife is best known for the annual “Great Wildebeest Migration Trek " : all grazing animals come here from far and wide to go in search of fresh grass . Of course, they are closely followed by predators like lions, leopards and hyenas scavenging.

Accompanied by a private guide you leave at first light for the game drives and return back again until the end of the day. Your stay in a spacious suite tent, which is comfortably furnished and also in the culinary field, you will not go hungry here. This area is so much to do that we recommend you to stay here a minimum of three nights but of course you can add as many nights as you wish to truly experience this wonderful magical place.

Day 9 – 11: Nduara Loliondo

You are traveling Nduara Loliondo Camp that offers a wonderful combination of culture, style, comfort and wilderness.

Nduara Loliondo is situated in the Loliondo area, part of the Serengeti ecosystem, which borders the Serengeti. From this camp you can take part in walking safaris and night drives which in the Serengeti are not allowed. The camp consists of six large tents, with all the luxury and comfort.

From December to June, the camp is located in the open plains of Piyaya. This area is bounded by the Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Gol Mountains and Sanjan Gorge. From June to December, the camp is located in Ololosokwan in northern Loliondo.

Day 12: Arusha Town Depart

After breakfast you have to say goodbye to a fantastic stay in Tanzania. You fly back from Ndutu or Lobo to Kilimanjaro where you fly back home.

To process all the impressions of this journey, you can also choose to extend the trip and a few days relaxing on the white beaches of Zanzibar Island, Pemba Island, Mafia Island, Lamu Island, Watamu beach, Diani Beach, Mombasa Beach, or Vamizi Island in Mozambique
