The Detailed Chimps and Gorillas Tracking Expedition, Uganda – 7 Days Luxury Safari Adventure Holiday Vacation Itinerary
Day 1: Entebbe Town - Bunyaruguru Crater Lake Region
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport and after clearing the customs, you will be met by an And Africa Travel representative who will assist you to check in for your flight to Kasese Airstrip. Upon arrival you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to Ndali Lodge, set in the Bunyaruguru Crater Lake region of Western Uganda.
The Ndali Lodge consists of individual cottages with their own private verandas with views and en-suite bathrooms and a spacious airy bedroom. Four-poster beds, draped in mosquito nets and decorated with locally made crafts give each cottage an individual feel. The lodge's water supply comes directly from the Crater Lake 100m below in the crater with an ingenious pressure system and so no external power is needed and ensures hot water is always available. The camp is lit with lanterns and candles including spectacular chandeliers above the central dining area which provides for a very romantic atmosphere.

Day 2: Bunyaruguru Crater Lake Region - Kibale Forest
After breakfast you will depart for the forest for Chimp trekking. Kibale Forest is famous for being home to the largest concentration of chimpanzees in Africa, as well as a variety of other primates, birds and butterflies. Tracking can be strenuous and could last up to four hours. Upon return you can do the Bigodi Swamp walk or a walk to the craters themselves.

Day 3: Bunyaruguru Crater Lake Region
The day is at leisure to enjoy the activities available. Ndali has local guides to take guests out for walks around the 1000 acre farm, to the Mahoma Water fall, and a boat for relaxing contemplation of a large variety of birds, butterflies and primates. Walks will take you around crater rims and through banana and vanilla plantations.

Day 4: Bunyaruguru Crater Lake Region - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
You will have an early breakfast every morning checked out for a 4 hours road transfer to Bwindi National park where you will overnight at Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp, the perfect luxurious base for an unforgettable gorilla tracking experience.
Bwindi is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a spectacular place to visit. Birders come thousands of miles to see the more than 350 species that live within the area. There are also rare forest elephant, giant forest hog and about 11 kinds of primates, such as red tailed and blue monkey, black and white Colobus monkey and baboons. Forest duiker antelopes, bush buck antelopes and over 200 species of butterflies are also found in the park.

Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will start the day with an early breakfast followed by a drive to the starting point where you will meet your tracking guide and receive a safety briefing. Once the gorillas are located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them.
Bwindi boasts over 300 bird species, including 24 that are endemic to these highlands straddling Uganda, Rwanda and the Congo - the "Albertine Rift Endemics". There are also over 200 species of butterflies found in the park. A local expert will guide you on this fascinating walk. You will the return to camp after the gorilla tracking for dinner and an overnight. After dinner simply relax and sip a drink as you listen to folk tunes played on the traditional Bakiga guitar.

Day 6: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today you will have the unique opportunity to meet some of the local Batwa's. It is a rare privilege to meet them as only eight of the original Batwa remain and although no one is sure exactly how old they are, they are believed to be between 80 and 110. The walk to their village is spiced with interesting information and anecdotes: the way the locals make banana gin, how they build their homes and the history of the Batwa who have lived in the forest for hundreds of years. The Batwa people are about four feet high and always delighted at new visitors. They will tell you, via a translator, how they hunt, make fires, build houses, use plants for medicinal purposes and even how they bury their dead. Once back at the camp you will have time to freshen up before dinner or enjoy a spa treatment from the mini spa.

Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Entebbe Town
After breakfast a delicious breakfast at Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp you will be transferred back to Kihihi Airstrip for your morning flight back to Entebbe. Upon arrival at Entebbe you will be met and assisted to connect with your next flight for your onward journey.
